So I'm back~ (Not that there was any reason for anyone to notice my absence. ^_~)

I drove to Pittsburgh to see my mom this past weekend though, and it was actually pretty nice. *nods* Got to see a play-adaptation of Crime and Punishment, which I really liked, aside from the romance aspect, which I thought was played up too much. :P I feel like I'm starting to sound like a broken record with this stuff, but... GAH. I really don't want to see romance in my C&P. :P It was a good adaptation though, overall. Really sparse set, and the whole thing was done with only three characters. *_* And it was all disjointed and non-linear, time-wise, so it made for an interesting way to tell the story. Made me want to read the book again~

We also painted the garage. :P

And then I came home, and watched Merlin!

...And then today I went to work, and got a flu shot. >_> Which really wasn't bad at all, I just hate shots. And now my arm hurts, and I think I feel kind of achy in general, but I'm probably just imagining it. >_>

So I was going a bit nuts just now, looking for an old LJ post that I KNOW I made (on the topic of eiko_c's recent post on tutixnagayan) but go figure, I couldn't find it. :P

What I did find though, was an old post of mine from back when I used to work at the apartment complex. In this post, I'd reproduced this completely scathing email from my old boss, where she's pretty much blaming me for some insanely high water bill for one of her other properties? And... yeah, it made me think that as much as I really, really don't want to be sitting here today, at least my bosses now are professional. And not insane. And at least I don't have to read emails like that anymore. :D

Other than that, not too much is going on...

Points of interest (or not? :P):

1. I've been thinking a lot about cross-dressing lately. :P Specifically, Nagayan cross-dressing. :D It occured to me late last week that even though we have empirical evidence proving that Nagayan enjoys cross-dressing... No one has ever written a serious fic about it. O_O I think this needs to be remedied. But I don't know if I can do it? But whatever, I still... think it's an interesting... thing to think about. :P

2. Weekend was nice. :) I started K-On!, which is really, really, REALLY cute. Possibly the cutest thing I've watched since... Azumanga Daioh, maybe? A bunch of cute, ditzy high school girls start a band. That's about the entire plot of the show, but it's great. <3

3. I also started watching Battlestar Galactica last night, against my better judgment. See, I'm already in the middle of Stargate Atlantis and Twin Peaks, and about 5 other things, so starting something new right now... may not have been the best idea. But I'd borrowed the DVD from Brian about 2 months ago and was starting to feel guilty about not returning it? So I watched it. And then promptly borrowed the entire box set of Season 1. *doomed* :P

4. The modifications to my costume for Otakon this weekend are completely done. :D Took me 5 hours and a lot of bloodied fingers to make two arm-warmers, something that really seemed like it should have been a lot easier? But...at least I did it, right? @_@

5. I don't want to be at work. T_T There's so much I want to watch and read and write and I can't stop thinking about Otakon and... BLAH. But it's Monday. So I will work. :P

So the weekend was a lot of fun. Camping was great--cold, but a lot of fun, and we had good weather (as in no rain). :D Got to have a campfire TWICE (evening and morning) due to the cold weather too, which was fun. XD

toshieri arrived in Ann Arbor last night, so I'm looking forward to hanging out with her later, and now I'm busy having my quiet lunch at my desk (which I decided on due to the extremely painful staff meeting we had directly before lunch :P) interrupted by IT people coming to hook up the printers (I think) so I'll go away now.

I'm trying to finish expense reports on time and... It's going to be tight this month. XD;;;

...I love Lemsip so much. *insane* :P I keep telling myself that I should wait until I'm falling-over-dead-sick to use it, and that this almost-cold isn't bad enough to be using up my supply, but... I just can't help it. It's so good~ ^___________^

But anyway, this weekend I'm helping Jeremy get all his stuff together for his trip to Europe, where he'll spend 2 and a half weeks harassing various doctors and trying to get them to participate in a market survey for the product his team has been assigned to. It's some kind of medical device, almost like a catheter, and basically the company who owns the design is paying for his team's trip over there, etc. It's a pretty nice deal for him, really, since it's basically an all-expenses-paid trip to Europe for a few weeks. :P I would assume the actual work part with these doctors might not be all that pleasant, but still... It should be a fun trip. That I'm not at ALL jealous that he's taking without me. >_>

Anyway~ Other than that I'm just planning to relax and...not get any sicker than I already am. :P

ALSO. It's a little early for me yet, but in the interest of not being late, I'll say this now...

The weekend was good though. Got to hang out with fuyu_no_fuhei, which was nice. :) ...Unfortunately, she had to witness me practicing the fine art of sucking at video games (even really easy ones) and generally making an ass out of myself in the process. Oh well. ^_~

I also saw the movie Kairo (a/k/a Pulse) which was scary, but also pretty depressing. @_@ Seemed more like a social commentary on the state of personal isolation in Japan than a horror movie, to me, but... It was really good. *_*

I did not see The Dark Knight, but I will, later this week.

I also survived our office picnic on Saturday.

Oh, and I started That Fic. *nod* >_>

And I think that's about all. I hope everyone had a great weekend though, and those of you back in the office today like me, I...wish you well. :P

...Ah, and I also watched the first three episodes of Antique Bakery. It was somehow gayer than I was expecting it to be, which I enjoyed. :P I think my favorite part was their visit to Shinjuku Ni-chome. 8D

I really don't feel like being at work. *sigh*

Weekend was great though. Friday was Jeremy's concert out in...somewhere in Ohio...and so I sat outside and listened to a bunch of patriotic band songs and nearly had my eardrums blown out by the cannons that were set off at the end of the 1812 overture. :P On our way back, we stopped off in Toledo because they were having a big July 4th celebration down by the boardwalk/riverfront area, so we walked around there for a while, looking at people having fun on their boats, sampled some food from the random food vendors, and then came back before the fireworks because we didn't feel like waiting the 3 hours we would have had to wait for them to start.

We ended up sitting around and watching Zettai Kareshi and then went out to the park to see some random neighborhood fireworks later, which was nice. :)

Saturday during the day, we didn't do much, and then Saturday night we were supposed to have a few people over for a scary anime night thing, but that turned into just...having one person over, Jeremy's friend Allison from Starbucks (because everyone else bailed/didn't show up at the last second) :P It was nice though, and Allison brought fireworks and we set them off in the park after it got dark, which was fun. I hadn't done fireworks in a long time. XD

Yesterday I finished Zettai Kareshi (T____T) and... That's about it. Went to the park again, went on a long walk downtown with Jeremy, discovered a random cafe within relative walking distance of our apartment...

And now... I now have a lot of mosquito bites, and I don't want to be at work, since I was rather getting used to not working. :P

Tonight I get to take Jeremy to the airport AGAIN, so that he can go on a fun trip to Colorado without me. Again. :P But that's okay, because I get to visit Genie this weekend, and that's only...a few days away. \^o^/

...I suppose now would be a good time to get to work, maybe, since there are actually things I could/should be doing. ^_~

I have a lot of random things on my mind this morning...

*tries to think of where to start*

Well, Friday was a fairly interesting day at work. Because it was commencement for the school, almost everyone was assigned to random event-related tasks for the day, and I was assigned to selling business school merchandise to recent graduates and their parents outside of a big reception that was happening just before the actual commencement ceremony. It was understandably VERY busy. @_@ I had kind of been dreading it, but it was honestly a lot of fun, for the most part. People were in mostly good spirits, so I didn't have to deal with too many rude customers or anything like that. And then at the end I got to pick two free things for myself, so... I got Jeremy a sweatshirt and a long-sleeved t-shirt for next year. :P

It was about 3:30 when the sale ended, and right around that time, one of the guys who works in the admissions office came around and told us that he wanted to take all of us who had worked the sale out for drinks, and that we should all go back and ask our supervisors if they'd let us out early. XD So I came back up to the office and as discreetly as possible asked one of my bosses (the only one who wasn't already at the commencement ceremony) if it would be okay for me to...spend the rest of the day at a bar. :P And she said yes, and I did. And it was a lot of fun. :D

I really wonder how many posts I have that are titled this very same thing... >_> I really hate titles though, so... Whatever. :P

I had a great weekend though, hanging out with lizstarsky, going to the Mitsuwa summer festival, meeting new LJ friends, etc. :D
